Role: Lead UX|UI Designer and Researcher

Lead UX/UI and Researcher through the entire design process execute alongside the product manager through research and discovery, concept development, refinement, visual design and usability testing.

Problem Space

The companies existing tools for employees to create content for clients was severely outdated and confusing. The internal application often caused many mistakes that cost the company millions of dollars in losses. Users would often hack the system in order to build content the system was not capable of delivering. A new system was needed in order for the company to scale its product offerings to clients and delivery content to its users. 

 

Learning and Discovery

In order to properly understand what the users were experiencing when using the system, users demonstrated tasks and activities they performed when doing their jobs under observation. Existing workflows and pain points were mapped in order to gain an understanding of the current structure of the application in its current form. Users were then interviewed to gain further understanding of their thought processes, emotional states and ideas on what they would do to fix this if given the chance. In addition I also took it upon myself to perform their jobs on my own to experience the work for myself. Data gathered from the discovery process was used to identify potential solutions to this problem.

Observations revealed pattern of activity, emotional states, pain points and solutions that was used to generated a user point of view.

 

Interviews surfaced the types of data and information that was being collected and input by users to create content was mapped out and organized. This information was used to create design solutions for each phase of content creation.

Global UX Solutions

Due to the complexity of the tasks and processes required by the users a high level approach was needed before I could get down to more granular areas of functionality along each phase of the content creation process. Relationships between different departments along the entire workflow had to be identified in order to design a system that will work along other departments that overlap with the ecosystem of the content creation process.

 

Concept Development

Wireframe exploration of potential solutions along each task that needed to be completed along the workflow.

 

Visual Design

Custom Salesforce Lightning UI was used in order to create a seamless integration with existing Saleforce tools already deployed by the company.

 

Utility screens from various sections of the workflow using native and custom UI elements and modules from Salesforce design system along side custom UI components and functionality.
